Here’s a simple guide to practicing EFT tapping:
1. Identify the Issue
Start by focusing on a specific issue you want to work on. This could be an emotion like anxiety, stress, or even a physical sensation like pain.
2. Rate the Intensity
On a scale of 0 to 10, rate how intense this issue feels. This gives you a baseline to track progress.
3. Affirmation Mantra
Identify a positive statement about self that would empower you in regards to your issue.
“I am strong, I am beautiful, I am calm, I am light, etc.”
4. Begin Tapping
Tap each of the 9 points 5-7 times while repeating your mantra. Focus on your emotions as you tap. Follow this sequence:
• Karate Chop (outer edge of the hand)
• Top of Head
• Eyebrow
• Side of Eye
• Under Eye
• Under Nose
• Chin
• Collarbone
• Under Arm
5. Rate the Intensity Again
After one round, check in with your intensity level. If it’s not down to 0, repeat the sequence until you feel a significant shift.
6. Close the Session
Acknowledge any changes, even if they’re small. Close with positive reinforcement, like:
“I’m releasing [issue] and feeling more at peace.”
*Repeat this process as needed. The goal is to reduce intensity each round, allowing you to feel calmer, lighter, and more balanced.
